Joy in His Presence

Good morning; I pray that you have a blessed week! At times, David was a man of impulse and did not always do things according to God’s standards. “It is possible to have “zeal without knowledge” and do a good work in a wrong way.”, Such as David’s desire to bring the ark of the Lord to the city of David to a tent he had prepared. However, David wanted to return the ark of the Lord for all the wrong reasons. My friend, we must make sure our hearts and motives are pure in the work we are doing for God. “And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness” (2 Samuel 2:12). Fear first came upon David when he wanted to bring the ark of the Lord into the city of David, so he left the ark which represented the presence of the Lord before the Temple was built to the children of Israel. And, we should have fear/reverence in the presence of God, which will lead the people of God to repentance. Many folks in the society we live in have lost the fear of the Lord, but my friend, there is coming a day (judgment day) that He will gain it all back. But, David was a man who feared the Lord and respected The Lord’s presence. David heard how God was blessing the house of Obededom because of the ark of the Lord he left there, and not only him but “all his house.”. The children of God are always blessed when we are in God’s presence. The greatest blessing in life is to feel the presence of God. David repented of his wrongdoings, David sought the Lord concerning the Ark of The Lord’s return to Jerusalem. I love the reaction of the king in the presence of God, as they marched that Ark down the street, “And David danced before the Lord with all his might, and David was girded with a linen ephod” (v. 14). Christian friend, how much do you enjoy the presence of God? Do we exhaust all our energy in the worship of God? Does the presence of God bring joy to our hearts that would make us act out of character? David was the king of Israel, dancing in the streets before his people with only an “ephod.” My Christian brothers and sisters, we do not have to wait until heaven to enjoy the presence of God. I pray you have a place of worship; I pray you go to your house of worship seeking to enjoy the presence of God. Father, thank you this morning for your presence that will stir the Holy Spirit inside every Christian to worship you in “Spirit and Truth .” Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!

Give Thanks Unto the Lord

Good morning, I pray you are feeling blessed! In the course of our day, how often do we stop and give thanks to the Lord for all He has done for us? In David’s Song of thanksgiving, we are encouraged to “Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people” (1 Chronicles 16:8). I want to encourage you this morning, instead of telling folks what satan is doing, let’s tell people today what God is doing. God is still blessing His people, God is demonstrating His love toward His people, and God is soon to come for His church! And tell them that God will save them too! “Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him talk of all His wondrous works” (v. 9). Find you a song today that reminds you of how good God has been to you, and sing it all day. Someone will ask you about the song, which will allow you to tell them of the goodness of God. “Glory ye in His holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord” (v.10). I encourage you to find joy in seeking after the heart of God and His will for your life. Father, I pray for our readers this morning that they will experience “joy unspeakable and full of glory” on this day as we witness of the goodness of God. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!

Order My Steps

Good morning; thank you for joining us around God’s Word. We are living in a time when “every man is doing what is right in their own eyes” (Judges 21:25). But Solomon reminded us that “all the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but the Lord weigheth the spirits” (Proverbs 16:2). My friend, can I encourage us this morning to compare all our ways against the Word of God. I have heard people say, “I don’t feel convicted, or this is what I believe.” If we desire to one day to enjoy the presence of God, His way, has to be the only way. The world says, “Just let your conscience be your guide, but conscience— unmonitored by the Word of God and unconvicted by the Spirit of God— is a poor guide indeed.” So, Solomon encourages fallen man to “commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established” (Pro. 16:3). We often chose our path of action, make our own plans, and then asked God to bless us. Solomon is encouraging us to seek the plan of God and follow His path of action. Fallen humanity often has problems with commitment, but I encourage us this morning that if we are going to have a successful plan throughout eternity, it must be the plan of God. Father, I pray for our readers this morning that we would commit our ways to God and follow the “footsteps you have ordered for us.” Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!

Dedicate to the Lord

Good morning; as you know, as Christian parents, we live in a world where our children are the target of ungodly teaching and influence. And, we as the parents, must take the responsibility to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). This verse is a promise from the Word of God that if we are dedicated, if we instruct, and if we motivate our children in the things of God, they will return to their foundation. To “train up a child in the way they should go” first involves dedicating our children to the Lord. Children are a gift/blessing from God, and when God entrusts us with our children, we become stewards of their life. And our job, as long as our children are dependent on us a parents, no matter the age we are to instruct them in the things of God. After the dedication, and after the godly instruction, we are to motivate them in the way they “should go, and when he (they) is old, he (they) will not depart from it.” My friend, we must take the responsibility to dedicate our children to the Lord, which takes great dedication from the parent. If we do not take time to instruct our children in the ways of God and take time to motivate them to serve and live for God, we may lose them to this world. The world is seeking after our children; let’s join forces and fight the streets for our children. I encourage you to pray for a family ministry in which your family can enjoy serving God together and that your children will fall in love with serving God. Father, I pray blessings upon all parents reading this devotion this morning, that we assume the teaching and instructing our children in the things of God. I pray we have dedicated our children to you and that we are dedicated to the effort it takes to develop their godly ministry. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!
