Order My Steps

Good morning; thank you for joining us around God’s Word. We are living in a time when “every man is doing what is right in their own eyes” (Judges 21:25). But Solomon reminded us that “all the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but the Lord weigheth the spirits” (Proverbs 16:2). My friend, can I encourage us this morning to compare all our ways against the Word of God. I have heard people say, “I don’t feel convicted, or this is what I believe.” If we desire to one day to enjoy the presence of God, His way, has to be the only way. The world says, “Just let your conscience be your guide, but conscience— unmonitored by the Word of God and unconvicted by the Spirit of God— is a poor guide indeed.” So, Solomon encourages fallen man to “commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established” (Pro. 16:3). We often chose our path of action, make our own plans, and then asked God to bless us. Solomon is encouraging us to seek the plan of God and follow His path of action. Fallen humanity often has problems with commitment, but I encourage us this morning that if we are going to have a successful plan throughout eternity, it must be the plan of God. Father, I pray for our readers this morning that we would commit our ways to God and follow the “footsteps you have ordered for us.” Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!
