Salt and Light

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own Salvation with fear and trembling” (Phil. 2:12). In this passage, the Apostle Paul is encouraging the Philippian believers to be led by the Spirit of God and work out their Salvation (sanctification) as the Spirit of God is leading them, based upon God’s Word. And, my friend, I encourage every Christian to focus on our relationship with God. We have the Word of God and the Spirit of God dwelling within us. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (v.13). God is working through the Christian believer to accomplish His will on this earth. This morning I ask you, are you focusing on the “will of God”? Are you allowing God to work through you for “His will” and “Good pleasure”? Then Paul instructs the believers to “Do all things without murmurings and disputing” (v.14). It should be our greatest joy to know that the God of our Salvation is working through us to accomplish His will! The pleasure of serving and believing in God will be demonstrated in the manner in which we operate. “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” (v.15). My friend, if you are a Christian this morning, God has called you to be the “light and salt of this earth”. Do not be surprised or allow the events of life to rob your joy of service to God or provoke us to bring a reproach against the church. Do not let the affairs of this life to dim the light of God in you. Christian friend, as we get too involved in temporal matters and do not handle them according to the “will of God,” and with the “light of God” which shines from within, we will become spotted with the world. Father, I pray that we will shine bright in a lost and dying world and allow Your will to be done through our lives. I pray that you will join with a local body of believers on this Lord’s Day. Be Blessed in Jesus Name

Walk with Jesus

This morning I know a lot is going on in this world we live in. It seems as if everyone is pointing the finger at each other; blaming one another started in the garden. And, sickness and death are all around us, heartache and trouble. My friend, the only stability you will find in this world is to walk with Jesus Christ; He changes not. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him” (Col. 2:6). During these difficult and uncertain times, I want to encourage you to make sure you walk with Jesus in your heart. As Christians, our focus is on the Kingdom of God, winning souls for Jesus, and pointing people to a Savior. This world and all that dwell in it will soon dissolve, but your walk-in Christ will last forever. “And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power” (v.10). Christian friend, understand this morning that Jesus is all you need in the Kingdom of God. satan has many distractions in this life, satan is trying to divert our attention from what is important and eternal. May I tell you what the most important factor in this whole matter is? That you are saved and don’t go to hell, Jesus loves you and died for your sins. And, He went away and prepared us a place (take time to shout)! This morning, Father, pray for our readers that you would convict them and draw them to yourself if they are not saved. I pray for my Christian friend that we walk strong with Jesus and find stability in His unchanging hand. Be Blessed in Jesus Name.

The Image of God

Good morning; I pray you have trusted Jesus as the Saviour and Lord of your life? I hope you believe that Jesus was more than a teacher, He was more than a prophet, He was more than a good man. In his declaration of Jesus to the believers at Colossae and his effort to describe the preeminence of Christ, Paul said, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” (Col. 1:15). Jesus was God in the flesh, Jesus was God walking on earth, Jesus was the perfect manifestation of God among men! Many times we have created idols from the very things Jesus has created, “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him” (v. 16). We in our humanistic mind and effort, forsake Jesus in a quest to grab hold of “thorns, dominions, and Powers” of this world. When we could serve the God who created them all and has control over all things and ask Him to bless us with them for His glory. I encourage you this morning not to be mesmerized by the creation but seek the creator. Don’t be drawn by the thorns of the world but allow God to exalt you. And, the only power someone has is what Jesus has allowed them to have. Father, I pray this morning that we would seek to please the Father who sits on The Throne! And, I pray we seek only the Power that comes from the Holy Ghost of God. Be Blessed in Jesus Name.
