Whom Do You Serve?

“For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve” (Acts 27:23).

The apostle Paul had a divine appointment in Rome to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. However, his trip to his divine appointment came through a storm where he was shipwrecked as a prisoner. But I love the opportunity Paul took during this time to be a witness of the Lord Jesus. Paul declared that he belonged to God and that the “angel of God “stood by him. My friend, who do you belong to this morning? If you belong to God, you have an angel standing by you as well! Jesus said that He would ” never leave you nor forsake you”. But, Paul did not stop by stating his position in God, he stated the reason he was on that boat, “whom I serve.” The reason he was a prisoner is that he preached Jesus, the reason he was on his way to Rome because God had declared it two years earlier, that Paul would preach in Rome. If you are divinely born into the family of God you have a divine appointment to be a servant of God. You may face the storm, you may feel shipwrecked, but we must feel as Paul did, “Where for sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me” (v.25). Father in the middle of the storm, help us to trust Your Word. I pray this morning that our readers would find the confidence they need to face this day in their position in the Family of God, and through Your God breathed Word. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!

The Seal of God

“In Whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed (confirmed) with the Holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13).

What a powerful passage that should encourage the hearts of every believer this morning. The seal of God is the Holy Spirit that God sends to dwell within every believer; this seal (The Holy Spirit) has marked you as a child of God. The seal of God is the claim of ownership, meaning that you are property of the Lord Jesus and kept by the Power of The Holy Spirit. My friend, if you have received Jesus as Lord, you have been purchased by His blood and seal by the Spirit of God. It’s ok to stop right there and lift your hands to the heavens and thank God that you belong to Him! As you go along this day, remember God’s property is not for sale, satan can never have you again, and God does not lose what belongs to Him. “ye are sealed unto the day of redemption”. (Eph. 4:30). Father, we thank you this morning for the sealing of the Holy Spirit; we are thankful that we rest under your protection! I pray this morning that my brothers and sisters will walk in victory! Be Blessed in Jesus!!

Bowels of Compassion

“But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? (1 John 3:17)

What a lovely passage, and what a great experience when you can see this passage in living color. I had the most incredible experience last evening, I needed help with a project, and a wonderful Christian extended his support. And he did not stop by just helping me, but he also made sure the project was completed. My friend, find another Christian in need and “open your bowels of compassion” to them. The other person may only need your company; I enjoyed the time I spent with my Christian brother, as he was helping me with a project. And as soon as the project was completed and we departed our ways, the Lord spoke this passage into my spirit. Too often, we are caught up in the race of life, and we forget to stop and help another brother/sister along the way. I pray you join with a local body of believers this Lord’s Day and share in the Worship of our GREAT God. Heavenly Father, I pray this morning for our readers that you would send someone their way whom they may extend the blessings of God to. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!
