Call Upon God

Good morning; thank you for joining us around God’s Word. The Psalmist said, “As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me” (Psalm 55:16). The psalmist refused to respond to his enemies in the same manner in which they treated him. If we as the people of God respond to our enemies with the same treatment they treat us, our character becomes no better than theirs. Someone may ask, how do we get through the constant attack of the enemy? “Call upon God” allow God to direct our paths, allow God to fight for us. You may feel the attacks, temptations, trials are relentless, and you are at your breaking point? “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud; and He shall hear my voice” (v.17). My friend, sometimes those who are coming against us are serving as our reminder to spend time with God. The more you feel the pressure, the more time you spend with God. The Psalmist said the more his enemies came against him, the more and louder he called on God. The psalmist had no question that he would be heard, and he spoke as if his prayers were already answered. Father, we thank you this morning for hearing our prayers and attending to our needs. Thank you for being our refuge in troubled times, and I pray this morning that You would speak peace to the troubled heart reading this devotion. Be Blessed in Jesus Name!
